Three questions and I'll give you the range that would make sense in your case, worked out with the DIME method. It asks for no personal details, stores nothing, and the answer appears as you type.
Plenty of families in Puerto Rico are underinsured. Use the DIME method, the same standard the insurance companies use, to estimate your coverage need in 60 seconds.
DIME is the standard way to work out how much protection is needed. It adds up four things, subtracts what you already have covered, and what's left is the amount that would let your family carry on with their lives if something happened to you tomorrow.
The name stands for Debt, Income, Mortgage, Education — but what matters is the arithmetic, not the acronym.
This estimate is a guide and is educational. It is not an offer of insurance or a binding quote. Approval, coverage and the final premium are subject to the insurance company's underwriting.

From adding four things and subtracting one: your debts (mortgage included), the years of income your family depends on, an estimate for each child's education, and final expenses; less whatever life coverage you already hold. That's the DIME method, the same framework used across the industry. The assumptions are in plain sight and you can change them.
Because a figure down to the dollar would imply a precision the method doesn't have. The result rests on your own assumptions — how many years, how much for education, what you count as debt — and changing any of them moves it. A range is honest about that: it gives you the order of magnitude, which is what you need to make the decision.
No, and that's not an oversight. What you're calculating here is the benefit: how much your family would receive. What you'd pay for that benefit depends on your age, your health, the type of coverage and the company, and it only comes out of a formal proposal. Any number I gave you here would be a guess.
No. The whole calculation happens in your browser and those numbers never travel to any server. They only reach me if you choose to send them over WhatsApp using the button at the end.
That happens often and it's no reason to do nothing. You can start with part of it, ladder policies of different lengths, or cover the most urgent gap first and add to it later. Worse than a small policy is no policy at all.
